This is an exciting opportunity in Milton Keynes for a Simulation and Modelling Engineer.
Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:
You will contribute to the structural analysis of battery modules and enclosures, using Ansys.
You will be part of a growing central simulation team, offering expert modelling, analysis and consultancy to the wider Electrified Powertrain mechanical design group.
Using the Ansys Finite Elements analysis suite, you will solve complex structural engineering problems and enable the group to make better, faster design decisions.
You will use your experience of modelling advanced composite materials (e.g. carbon fibre, thermoplastics) and structures to solve complex and challenging engineering problems.
You will perform stress, thermal, vibration and fatigue simulations to enable the efficient design and development of battery housing products that can be easily manufactured and which meet demanding specifications for robustness and safety.
You will perform impact analysis to ensure the product is ready for a variety of on and off-highway applications.
Skills and Experience Required:
Experience with one or more of the following topics: Vibrational Dynamics, Composites Materials, Structural “Design For Purpose”, Advanced Prototyping, Empirical Testing.
Experience with one or more CAD/FEA/CFD software tools: CREO 4, Ansys V.18, COMSOL, Dymola/Modelica and Matlab & Simulink.
Use of ANSYS Autodyn and ANSYS LS-DYNA to carry out drop, impact and explosion simulations.
Experience of Ansys automated meshing, using appropriate assumptions and boundary conditions.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Aeronautical Engineering,
OR equivalent vocational experience in an engineering design and analysis role
Compensation and Benefits
In return we can offer a salary between £30,000 - £34,000 (dependent on experience).
