NVH Engineer

Description

We are currently seeking an NVH Engineer to be accountable for noise and vibration measurement and analysis work for turbochargers and adjacent engine components. The role is based at the Cummins Turbo Technologies Technical Centre in Huddersfield.

The position is classed as a “Hybrid” role, with on average 3 days a week being on-site and working from home when being on site is not required.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways;

  • Perform experimental modal testing and vibration tests using Siemens state of the art data acquisition systems.

  • Work as an active member of cross-functional problem-solving teams, notably working closely with other disciplines such as Lab Operations and Application Engineering to conduct NVH tests on-site and off-site.

  • Advising internal and external customers on noise and vibration related issues.

  • Duties include test planning, program and instrumentation planning, test plan coordination, executing and directing test programs with the assistance of laboratory technicians, conducting data analysis and reporting of test results.

  • Liaise with Lab Ops to perform and develop experimental measurement methods for turbocharger acoustic characterisation on the hemi-anechoic noise test cell.

  • Responsible for supporting non-standard shaker rig testing work in Lab Ops at Huddersfield.

  • Assist with the development of better noise and vibration techniques and processes as part of longer term NVH global strategies.

Qualifications

To be a success in this role you will need;

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Scientific subject

  • Some knowledge of rotating machinery or pumps or diesel engines is preferred

  • Knowledge of NVH and data acquisition preferred

  • Experience of LMS Test Lab, Matlab or any other data acquisition software.

Compensation and Benefits;

  • Salary between £27,700 to £42,600 depending on experience
