This is an exciting opportunity for Electronic Systems Technical Advisors – Software #MI001 in Galesburg, Michigan.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Investigate highly difficult and specialized embedded software problems, understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate action, own problem resolution, and document results.

  • Create, manage, improve, and apply embedded software development cycle tools and procedures and perform complex Model Based Design (MBD) using MATLAB/SIMULINK.

  • Utilize systems knowledge and expertise to make decisions in the areas of software requirements, architecture, design, and test that impact the quality and performance of software builds, product lines (platforms), and management of cross Business Unit integration and coordination, and actively participate in the generation of software models.

  • Construct embedded software using industry best practices and robust software engineering principles and verify software updates to ensure quality products.

  • Coordinate the development of design verification and software validation plans from a variety of inputs to identify failure modes while managing risk and relative priority.

  • Lead the design, implementation, and testing of complex software requirements.

  • Direct design and code reviews in order to ensure conformance to requirements.

  • Use complex electronics and software engineering methods and tools to translate stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements to which designs are developed, establish acceptance criteria for the system of interest through comprehensive analysis, allocation, and negotiation, track the status of requirements through the system lifecycle, and assess the impact of changes to system requirements on project scope, schedule, and resources.

  • Obtain input and negotiate with product and software development teams and deliver verified software features, components, builds to product teams.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Software development cycle tools and procedures

  • Model Based Design (MBD) using MATLAB/SIMULINK

  • Generation of software models

  • Software verification and validation

  • Requirements design, implementation, and testing

  • Design and code reviews to ensure conformance to requirements

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • Positions require aMaster’s degree Electrical, Electronics, or Software Engineering, or related fieldand2 years of experience as an Electronic, Controls, or Software Engineer, or related position.

  • Alternatively, the employer will accept aBachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Software Engineering,or related field and 5 yearsof experience as an Electronic, Controls, or Software Engineer, or related position.

JOB SITE: Galesburg, Michigan

WORK HOURS: 40 hours/week [8:00 am to 5:00 pm]

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience plus bonus. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
