We are currently looking for someone who is eager to learn and automate industry best practices to decrease human input in relation to validation. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing automated processes as well as validation of transmission system level components. This job will work with product owners and other developers to design solutions to tough business problems and enhance usability to increase software certification efforts. Vehicle level automation and certification is also in scope.

This is an exciting opportunity for a:

Customer Engineering Product Specialist

(Hybrid Role) This role is a blend of remote/onsite work, depending on business needs.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Be part of the team developing next generation automated transmissions.

  • Create and oversee the execution of Test Plans to ensure successful software releases with our OEM partners.

  • Work internationally with a team of engineers running HiL test stands.

  • Define requirements, contribute to the definition of software algorithm and hardware designs.

  • Obtain input from stakeholders such as technical managers, project leaders, other product and manufacturing engineers and supplier partners to deliver information and recommendations that lead to quality product decisions.

  • Create Test cases and Test Scripts for validating that system and functional requirements are met.

  • Perform validation testing to confirm that system and functional requirements are met.

  • Provide technical assistance to other engineering groups throughout the organization such as warranty, technical specifications, OEM liaisons, and manufacturing.

  • Provide technical assistance to other team members within the Verification and Validation group.

  • Serve as the systems engineer on cross functional new/current product development teams.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years, in a relevant discipline area is required.

  • Technical skills and working knowledge including: Engine operations, Transmission operations, CAN communication, Basic electrical and electronics, Understanding of basic control systems theory

  • Working knowledge of powertrain and drivetrain systems/components (engines, transmissions, axles, and brakes)

  • Class A commercial driver's license, or willingness to obtain (A Plus)

  • Comfortable working with other engineering groups inside and outside of the organization (i.e., Controls, Warranty, Technical Publications, Design, Suppliers, and OEM's).

  • Experience with Vector tools such as CANape and CANalyzer a plus

  • Basic knowledge of mechatronics systems using CAN communications, electrical, mechanical and pneumatics

  • Understanding of basic control systems theory

  • Experience with systems engineering tools such as IBM Jazz (Requirements, Quality, Design, and Change Management) (a Plus)

  • MATLAB and Simulink experience (a Plus)

  • Physics based plant modeling expertise (a Plus)

  • Safety & Hazard analysis experience (a Plus)

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or any other relevant disciplines is required.
