Current Product Engineer
We are looking for a talented Current Product Engineer to join our team in Cookeville, TN for our Cummins Filtration business. This product focused position performs established technical tasks at the sub-system and/or component level for current and future products within a given business unit or corporate area. This involves work across many steps in the product life cycle. Because of the product centered nature of this position, they are very often a central point of coordination and decision making between product line engineers, customer teams, systems engineers, purchasing, suppliers and manufacturing.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Coordinate with appropriate chief engineers and reliability group to establish test plans for product validation and ensure product performance meets or exceeds minimum design requirements.
Plan and participate in sample builds utilizing the Sample Prototype Request (SPR) process and Initiate Engineering Work Orders (EWO)utilizing the Sample Manager to plan and generate Test request for product validation.
Execute and manage Value Package Change (VPC) projects as either Project Leader (PL) or Technical Project Leader (TPL) in support of product design improvement initiatives utilizing 6s tools. Present project updates to the appropriate level Management Review Group (MRG) providing project oversight.
Support the manufacturing plant, supply chain, quality, or customer requested change initiatives specific to release of new or modified designs and Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) to support implementation of manufacturing process change.
Coordinate with cross functional teams as necessary to complete product Design Reviews (DR), Drawing Quality Review (DQR) and Product Releases, while establishing/releasing product to meet product structure hierarchy rules and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Develop expertise and provide technical support related to product and design performance for a broad array of liquid or air products enabling support to product sales, suppliers and internal and external customers, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Prefer BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant fields.
Prior entry level engineering equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required. (Internship)
Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
Ability to work cross-functionally, communicate effectively, and drive process improvements.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
