This role is focused on continued quality/quality improvement to our end product by insuring materials used in the plant and on the engine meet required material specifications. Opportunity to utilize Inductively Coupled Plasma, X-Ray Fluorescence, Scanning Electron Microscope/Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy, Cleanliness analysis.

Completes Chemistry and Metallurgy projects and reports using appropriate tools and test equipment.

Operates equipment and performs physical analysis in support of manufacturing. Prepares samples and specimens for testing using standard laboratory techniques. Acquires and interprets data and documents results; provides written results in technical report format when appropriate. Documents laboratory methods, writes reports as appropriate. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment. Coordinates the collection, transportation, and documentation of chemical waste disposal. Understands and applies appropriate company and department rules and guidelines to work. Understands MSDS sheets and chemical properties as required. Interfaces with customers, suppliers, engineers, and other functions. Coordinates programs including planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking. Participates in the maintenance of quality procedures. Participates in, maintains safety and housekeeping. Leads and participate in improvement projects. Develops and gives presentations to customers and suppliers. Knows and complies with all safety policies and procedures. Demonstrates confidentiality as required. Participates in self- and team-audits and associated corrective action. Performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to get the job done.
