We are looking for a talented Functional Safety Electronic Hardware Specialist to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Corporate Business Unit in Columbus IN (Hybrid).

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Investigating electronic hardware problems, understanding in causal mechanisms, recommending appropriate actions, owns problem resolutions, and documenting results.

  • Applies and improves electronic hardware development processes and tools. Processes include basic problem-solving techniques, design for EMC robustness, design for manufacturing, familiarity with embedded electronic hardware development process, requirements analysis.

  • Obtains input and negotiates with cross functional teams.

  • Establishing, owning, and maintaining hardware design elements that meet functional safety goals and independence from impact with standard controls design development and quality management.

  • Manages review of electronic control hardware products that are integrated to comply with system architecture plans to meet safety integrity level design goals.

  • Contributes to the creation and maintenance of hardware software functional safety interface requirements and design support.

  • Manages and executes plans for creation, tracking and documentation to meet qualification of area hardware components to functional safety work standards.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • 5-10 years of related professional experience is required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.

  • The candidate will be expected to have clear written and verbal communication skills and resolve issues through consensus building and support the overall corporate functional safety culture.

  • Understanding the hardware specifically ISO262

  • Must achieve and maintain ISO 26262 functional safety certification to fulfill functional safety hardware role.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
