We are looking for a talented Engine Test Cell Technician to join our team specializing in Test Execution for our Engine Business in Columbus, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Build, repair and prepare articles for testing and associated auxiliary equipment.
Install test article into test structure (test cell, table, rig, etc.).
Perform tests in accordance with set test methods.
Performs testing in accordance with established test procedures and methodology.
Consistently provide accurate and reliable test results.
Have an in-depth understanding of the function of the test equipment used to perform testing and the contribution of the test equipment to the validity of the test results.
Configure and operate data acquisition systems; analyzes and reviews data for appropriateness.
Have an in-depth understanding of the functioning of the product under test to assess the contribution of the product to the validity of the test results.
Perform test stand installation, troubleshooting and setups and the upkeep and maintenance of laboratory equipment
Provide support/recommendations to engineering for equipment supplier evaluation and qualification, equipment and facility updates and instrument specification
Perform other duties as required.

Data Acquisition - Prepare samples, verify equipment calibration and perform tests according to an approved standard procedure or work instruction in a manner which ensures, and results in, data that can be trusted and delivered to the engineer or customer.
Data Reporting - Prepare documentation in a manner which clearly organizes and presents testing methods, instrument settings, the data and analysis to allow the engineer and customer to understand the results and form accurate conclusions and recommendations.
Product Function Test System Design - Interpret test equipment specifications from test standards or lab customer requirements; select and integrate appropriate equipment, instrumentation and software to control boundary conditions and collect measurement data; assess capability of the lab equipment against the requirements and support infrastructure.
Test Setup and Configuration - Interpret test plan to determine optimal location and orientation within a test space in accordance with local safety and environmental requirements and fabricates required system with appropriate materials.
Test Article Build - Assemble test articles according to test requirements, including all necessary installation or accommodations for instrumentation, in a manner that allows the test articles to successfully undergo product functional test.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
A regionally applicable Certification (e.g. US Department of Labor) or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
This role is a first shift Monday – Friday position (7:30am-3:30pm with some flexibility)
Will involve Mechanical work (engine rebuilds, engine installs, test cell side repairs etc.)
There will be an expectation to have a good sense of team building, initiative and experience with running the test cells to thrive in the role.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
